Benthic macroinvertebrates community to response environmental factors in a crater lake (Case study: Lake Menjer, Indonesia)

چکیده
Abstract Lake Menjer is one of the crater lakes located in highland Central Java, Indonesia, which has received multiple stressors from anthropogenic activities. Benthic macroinvertebrates as a key indicator for water quality were little known there. Thus, this present research aimed to identify benthic macroinvertebrate structures and understand response community Menjer. Samplings conducted twice, week each August October 2019 at five sites. Sampling represented condition dry season, while rainy season. Some groups identified into family others genus level. Water variables measured directly on site, including clarity, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), conductivity, total solids (TDS), oxidation-reduction potential (ORP). Meanwhile, level nitrate (TN), phosphate (TP), nitrite, chlorophyll-a analyzed separately. A 4312 composed eleven taxa belonging eight families recorded, namely Chironomidae (22.85%), Tubificidae (73.50%), Lumbricullidae (0.68%), Thiariidae (0.21%), Planorbidae (0.45%), Lymnaeidae Unionidae (0.92%), Corbiculidae (1.13%). The number varied between 1 3 station. Mollusk was best-represented group with families. shown predominant abundance both (3879 ind/m2) (2008 ind/m2). Shannon-Wiener index ranged nearly similar two seasons, 0.17 0.91 0.0 October. ANOSIM CAP6 result illustrated that there an insignificant difference (P below 0.05) among sampling sites This mostly homogenous. Bray-Curtis analysis using MVSP shows similarities compositions performed by Canonical Correspondence Analysis nine tended correlate TN, DO, conductivity. other had relationship temperature, TP, chlorophyll-a.

Benthic communities are highly relevant in the study of aquatic ecosystems, both for their role in the functioning of the ecosystem and also as markers or indicators of paleo-conditions. Their distribution, as in other communities, is conditioned by abiotic and biotic factors and to their interactions, which determine the structure of the community that is established. The aim of this study was...
متن کاملCrater lake cichlids individually specialize along the benthic–limnetic axis
A common pattern of adaptive diversification in freshwater fishes is the repeated evolution of elongated open water (limnetic) species and high-bodied shore (benthic) species from generalist ancestors. Studies on phenotype-diet correlations have suggested that population-wide individual specialization occurs at an early evolutionary and ecological stage of divergence and niche partitioning. Thi...

The bacterioplankton assemblage in Crater Lake, Oregon (U.S.A.), is different from communities found in other oxygenated lakes, as demonstrated by four small subunit ribosomal ribonucleic acid (SSU rRNA) gene clone libraries and oligonucleotide probe hybridization to RNA from lake water. Populations in the euphotic zone of this deep (589 m), oligotrophic caldera lake are dominated by two phylog...

Lonar lake is a inland saline crater lake of only one of its kind in Asia, which depicts unique limnology and biodiversity. Studies were undertaken to evaluate its unique ecosystem. Wetlands of this lake have archaeological significance. Due to its importance to the humans, studies were carried out with regard to its water quality in terms of physico-chemical characteristics, heavy metal concen...

The opening stages of speciation remain poorly understood, especially from a genomic perspective. The genomes of newly discovered crater-lake cichlid fish shed light on the early phases of diversification and suggest that selection acts on multiple genomic regions.
